Meet Danielah
“I would rather live with failure than with regret.”
Hi! I am Danielah Germon, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I graduated from Hope International University’s Marriage & Family Therapy program and worked in the field for over 10 years. I am trained in EMDR and Prepare/Enrich. The bulk of my work has been working with couples through their relational issues, premarital counseling, divorce/reconciliation, infertility struggles, Postpartum Depression, and Infidelity/Affair Recovery.
Besides providing counseling services in English, I also conduct therapy in Spanish. I have a special place in my heart for the Latinx population. I’m currently writing my doctoral dissertation on Child Interpreters to earn my PsyD from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and have been teaching in Master’s level counseling programs since 2014.
How I work
I love people. People are complex, diverse, and beautiful, and all deserve the opportunity to make better/different choices and live more fulfilling lives. I love being part of seeing that happen for my clients.
My goal is to see the world through their eyes and tailor my treatment plan to fit them. There is no cookie-cutter approach to what I do. Everything is unique to the client.
My style is easy-going, optimistic, and hopeful. I love working with my clients as we roll up our sleeves and do what needs to be done to improve the client’s quality of life. I believe I provide a place of comfort and authenticity. Clients freely come in as they are, with no fear of judgment or question. I want to hold space to share their hearts and innermost thoughts, knowing that they will be met with respect and positive regard.
And when our time together is done, I want each client to feel that they will be facing future challenges feeling confident and equipped to overcome. I want everyone to feel stronger and wiser, and more competent than when they first reached out.
More about me
My family is from Brazil, and my husband’s family is from Mexico. I say my kids are “Braxican” (Brazilian-Mexican-American), and I’m fluent in Spanish and Portuguese!
I’m a huge bookworm. I love to read and listen to audiobooks, but I also enjoy podcasts tremendously. I’m also very artistic and was a professional singer (live and recording) for many years. My current favorite thing to do is hang out with my husband and kids, and we can’t wait for life to go back to “normal” so we can get back to beach days and Disneyland!
