Meet Sarah
“True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.”
― Brené Brown
Hi! I’m Sarah Ross, a licensed clinical social worker. I hope we get to meet and work together. People often ask about my background. So if that is of interest, I began my studies at Cal State San Marcos and obtained my masters in social work from USC.
While my passion is working with adults – especially couples, I first fell in love with this work when I was a new therapist helping children and families heal and unite. What miracles I witnessed, and it was such an honor to be a part of that process!!
How I work:
I firmly believe that every one of us is inherently lovable. Yet sometimes, we forget that, which can lead to stress, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. I want to reverse that trend and provide whatever tools and insight my clients need to make things easier and better.
If you are looking for a therapist who nods a lot and isn’t very active with you, that would not be me. I am energetic yet easy-going, optimistic, goal-oriented, and a quick thinker. While not every situation is suitable for excitement and energy, I am not the therapist sitting there silent for an hour, not offering any assistance in problem-solving. While I can be a calm and grounding presence when needed, my hope is always to ignite the flame for my client – whatever their goal, I hope to provide a positive nudge when wanted and needed. A great job title for me would be “radical preacher of self-acceptance.” I am not afraid to be direct and love to laugh when appropriate!
More about me:
When I’m not doing therapy, I love watching documentaries about new things, spending time with my family, and caring for my many houseplants. I also love live music – it’s so much fun to experience the collective energy of people dancing together and singing along.
I also dearly love my mini poodle, Casper, who is always glued to my side. I don’t know where we’d be without each other.
