How it works

We are here to help you sort out your thoughts and feelings so that you can make decisions in ways that will help you feel better. We won’t tell you what to do but we will support you as you explore your options. As licensed counselors, we will help you understand what is not working and teach you the skills to help you get what you want.

Our entire mission is ‘Peace of Mind and Heart.’ We focus everything we do on that mission. We believe in relationships and we want you to be happy at home.

We also know that people who attend counseling are 6 times more likely to feel better than those who try to solve their problems on their own. That said, like anything, you get out of therapy what you put into it. While we can’t guarantee you will end up happier, we can say that our clients who stay the course and who up show up committed to the process achieve results that make them significantly happier in their lives and relationships. And we promise to do our best to help and support you on your journey. As part of that promise, we want your feedback along the way. We will actively seek out your opinions on how you see the therapy is progressing so that we can be of the most and best service to you.

We also measure progress so we are able to see what is working and not working. This type of measurement means people often get better at least twice as fast.

Then please see one of our counselors– we’d love to help! Many people find that as they seek help and feel better, the relationship improves. After all, when you are happier – everything looks and feels better – and IS better.

Excellent. We’ve made the scheduling process easy. You can either click here to schedule an appointment via our online calendar or you can call our Client Ambassador at 949-393-8662 who will help get you scheduled. Or text us (949.393.8662) for more information.

We look forward to meeting you.

Insurance

Insurance Information

We are a contracted provider for Kaiser Permanente, Aetna, Lyra, Medicare & Optum (or United Behavioral Health/United Health Care).

Depending on your insurance company, you may be entitled to partial reimbursement as we are Out of Network providers for other insurance companies. Inland Empire Counseling Center is happy to contact your insurance company on your behalf to check your insurance benefits for you. That said, we are not a party to the contract you have with your health insurance company. So we cannot guarantee that you will get any reimbursement.

Here is how it works. Clients pay the fee at the time of the session and then we will email you a receipt (AKA superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company through their online portal. Some of our clients receive anywhere from 20% to 70% reimbursement for individual therapy. As noted, most insurance companies do not pay for couples therapy. The amount (and whether you are entitled to reimbursement)is dependent on your policy benefits and if you’ve met your annual deductible.

Out-of-Pocket Billing

We offer several options for those who need to pay for counseling services out-of-pocket. You can:
Pay with cash, credit, or debit cards
Use an HSA card or flex spending card

Are there any risks involved in using my insurance?

As noted, many insurance companies do not pay for couples counseling as they do not see relationship struggles as a medical problem. And we agree – relationship issues are not medical problems. So they may not cover any part of your counseling.

Using your medical insurance for counseling has some risks involved to you though. You see, in order to use your medical insurance, you must be given a mental disorder diagnosis which will now be listed on your medical records. This may cause problems later when you might be asked “have you ever been diagnosed with a mental illness?” on a job application or when applying for health insurance or life insurance. It is up to you but we wanted to make you aware of potential complications. Paying out-of-pocket reduces this liability as no one will have access to your records unless required by law.
