My motto: “What you focus on, you amplify.”
Hi! I’m Marni Reinhardt, a senior clinician, licensed marriage and family therapist, clinical supervisor, and one of the first therapists here when SoCal Counseling Center opened in 2013. I have advanced training in couples therapy, sex therapy, and over 100 hours of Ericksonian hypnotherapy training.
In middle school, I was in the “Conflict Managers” program where students could request a peer to help them work out a conflict. That was probably a sign that couples counseling would be my specialty.
How I work
My goal is to help my clients improve their relationships and maintain that improvement over time. I help them to feel confident in their own skills and be able to generalize their progress to any future concerns that may arise. When we finish our work together, I want each client to feel better connected to their partner and their own fulfillment.
People tell me that I am empathic yet practical and gentle yet direct. I do enjoy using humor.
My style and approach to therapy adjust to what the client needs. I take an integrative approach using relational, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, neurolinguistic, and systems techniques to create the best fit for every client. No two courses of therapy are the same.
I am proud to be considered an expert in relational therapy and have an LGBTQI-affirming and sex-positive approach.
Seeing my clients’ progress and knowing that their everyday lives have improved because of our work together motivates me!
More about me
I love spending time with family and friends and reading. I’ve watched the entire Schitt’s Creek series thrice. During the pandemic, I took up baking and love it.
Other pastimes include:
* Walking the dog.
* Attempting to train the dog.
* Amusing myself with the irony that I’m a therapist with a dog who has permanent separation anxiety.
